Happy Mother’s Day!

So I’ve officially been a mother now for a little over a year and am celebrating my second Mother’s Day.    I’ve had some time to digest this world of fabulous “mommyhood” ….and although it comes with “those days”…. it also comes with the most amazing, priceless moments I have ever experienced.

My favorite mommy “firsts:”

  • reaching her arms up to me
  • “ma ma”
  • me holding a sleeping, happy baby
  • hug
  • resting her head on me for no reason
  • sitting on my lap and reading a book
  • rubbing noses
  • crawling together
  • mimicking each other
  • that big smile and twinkle in her eyes when she sees me

It gets better and better every day.  I find myself kind of sad as it’s all bittersweet.  She won’t let me cuddle her to sleep anymore but now she’s waiting, standing and chatting away in her crib every morning waiting for me to pick her up.  We find ourselves overwhelmed at times and complaining on how dad needs to do more of this or that,  but you can’t deny that it warms your heart  when she’s upset and the only person she wants is mommy.  So when you are having one of those days, remember these moments and give your little one a hug. Happy Mother’s Day!!! :-)
